But others strive to have both, and in some cases, their creations become the focal point of a room – more art installation than functional architectural element. Spiral staircase designs are impressive but other creative stairs can be made of glass seemingly float on air, and innovative wooden creations serve as book storage and seating. Zaha Hadid, best known in the UK for the London 2012 Aquatics Center, the architectural centerpiece of the summer games, has taken first place in a competition to design the new Tokyo National Stadium. The visually striking submission will replace the current, ageing structure, built in 1958 and which served as the main venue for the 1964 Summer Olympics. The fun nursery school design which make children cheerful when looking into the building, designed by Tham & Videgård Architects. The yellow exterior with vertical facade panel made of 50x50mm sawn wood, make it looks like a nice place to play whole of day. This panel filters direct sunlight into the nursery school and create hidden windows that underscores the curved interior and exterior spaces. This building located in Stockholm, Sweden, on the border between a former urban/industrial development and a small forest where new housing is being developed.
